Sleepy Hollow Road Pump Station

Sleepy Hollow Road Pump Station

Since acquiring the City of Falls Church water system in January 2014, Fairfax Water has been implementing measures to integrate the City’s facilities into Fairfax Water's existing water transmission and distribution system. The Seven Corners area, located on high ground and near the outer edges of the two historic water systems, experiences delivery pressures lower than those typically experienced elsewhere in Fairfax Water’s system and has been identified as a priority for system improvement.

The planned Sleepy Hollow Road Pump Station will be located at 2959 Sleepy Hollow Road and is the first of several upgrades needed to improve pressure, fire flow and resiliency in the Seven Corners area. Over the long-term the pump station, in conjunction with other planned future facilities, will assist in meeting future demands.

A Special Exception application to construct the Sleepy Hollow Pump Station has been submitted to Fairfax County and the facility is anticipated to be in service by 2024.

A Community Meeting was held virtually on May 11, 2021, at 7:00 pm.

Upcoming Milestones
