Student Project Program
Fairfax Water is pleased to offer its help to 7th - 12th grade students pursuing science fair projects related to drinking water. We are here to answer general questions regarding the drinking water treatment process and water quality as well as to provide assistance with testing water samples from students' experiments.
Students wishing to work in our water quality lab with a trained analyst should contact the Student Project Coordinator to discuss their project. The criteria we use to select students for the program are:
- A maximum of ten slots may be available each semester (two quarters). The number of students accepted into the program will be dependent upon Fairfax Water personnel availability.
- All applications will be processed on a first-come first-served basis.
- Project proposals must be original as developed by the student.
- Projects with due dates of less than three weeks from the original contact will not be considered.
- All proposals must be related to Drinking Water.
After consulting with the Student Project Coordinator, a Student Project Program Application must be filled out and mailed, faxed or emailed.
