Customer Notice: Info on Third-Party Payment Websites

September 7, 2019
Customer Notice: Avoid Payment Delays and Added Costs that Can Occur When Using Unaffiliated Third-Party Payment Websites

What are third party payment sites?

Third-party payment sites are bill pay websites that may appear to be affiliated with Fairfax Water, but they are not.  These third-party sites allow people to pay water bills or other bills through their website, but they are not associated with or endorsed by Fairfax Water.

Why should I be aware of these sites?

Paying through third-party sites may result in extra fees from the third party and delays in payment posting. Fairfax Water cannot control when we receive customer payments processed through third-party websites. This could result in late payments, late fees, and even disconnection of service for non-payment.

How can I pay my bill without processing fees?

There are several other ways to pay your bill, and most of them are free.

  • Automatic debit payment (recurring payment option)

  • In person

  • By mail

  • Through your bank (Check with your bank for options and any associated fees.)

  • Via the Fairfax Water Customer Portal using your bank account (single payment option)

What website should I use to make sure that I am paying Fairfax Water directly?

To make sure that you are paying Fairfax Water directly and without delay, use our Customer Portal at www.fwcustomer.org/fairfax/.  This is the only online payment site associated and endorsed by Fairfax Water.  There is a link to our Customer Portal at the top of our homepage:  www.fairfaxwater.org.

Visit https://www.fairfaxwater.org/payments to learn more about these payment options.
