Sleepy Hollow Road Pump Station

Since acquiring the City of Falls Church water system in January 2014, Fairfax Water has been implementing measures to integrate the City’s facilities into Fairfax Water's existing water transmission and distribution system. The Seven Corners area, located on high ground and near the outer edges of the two historic water systems, experiences delivery pressures lower than those typically experienced elsewhere in Fairfax Water’s system and has been identified as a priority for system improvement.

The planned Sleepy Hollow Road Pump Station will be located at 2959 Sleepy Hollow Road and is the first of several upgrades needed to improve pressure, fire flow and resiliency in the Seven Corners area. Over the long-term the pump station, in conjunction with other planned future facilities, will assist in meeting future demands.

Construction Activities June and July 2024

• Pour concrete slab for pump room and electrical room  
• Poured concrete for pump and equipment support concrete columns 
• CMU walls installation
• Conduit rough-ins at through wall penetration
